Add the Words Testimony

This is what draws me to Southminster Presbyterian.

I spent the morning at the State House, hoping to offer testimony on behalf of House Bill 2, which would Add the Words “sexual orientation” and “gender identity” to the Idaho Human Rights Act.

Over 1,000 people signed up to testify, so my name was not drawn this morning. I am going back for this evening’s hearing, but in case my name does not get called again, here’s what I am hoping our legislators will hear.

If you followed the testimony this morning, you’ll note they privileged people from out of the state who represent advocacy groups and they prioritized calling up people who traveled across the state. That means the testimony was lopsided this morning against the bill, even though the majority of people there were hoping to speak in favor.
